Electric truck for bonprix – SupplyX as a partner for green supply chains

Sustainability

With the support of SupplyX, bonprix, a fashion company belonging to the Otto Group, is now operating its first electric truck. Living up to its credo “100% fashion, 0 emissions”, the company is continuing to pursue its goal of making supply chains more sustainable and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in goods transportation.

Following SupplyX bonprix is one of the first group companies to rely on electric trucks for the transport of goods. The e-truck was brought onto the road thanks to the long-standing collaboration between SupplyX and bonprix – using the solutions MOVE. and VIEW. By SupplyX. Thus, two more e-trucks are now operating under the umbrella of the Otto Group.

The new electric truck can be seen on the regular route from the Port of Hamburg to the Hermes Fulfilment GmbH warehouse in Haldensleben, which is located approximately 260 kilometers south-east of Hamburg. On this route alone, the switch from diesel trucks to trucks powered by green electricity will enable annual savings of around 46.5 tons of CO₂. The electric truck is just one of many steps that SupplyX and bonprix are jointly taking in order to increase sustainability: After the successful launch of a digitization initiative to track shipments, a project to reduce emissions in the supply chain is already in the planning stages.

Joining forces for powering a sustainable transport industry

With the electric truck project, SupplyX is not only continuing its long-standing partnership with bonprix. The existing cooperation between SupplyX and the logistics service provider Contrail has also contributed to the success of the project – enabling improved climate protection and high-performance logistics with the help of a fully electric truck.

“Our goal is to promote e-mobility throughout the Otto Group. The first electric truck for bonprix which was provided by the transport company Contrail, marks an important step in this direction. This project is a great example of the successful collaboration between bonprix and SupplyX and shows how we are working side by side in order to contribute to climate protection,” says Necla Aci, Key Account Manager at SupplyX, explaining the significance of this cooperation.
