5G

The new mobile communications standard 5G (fifth generation) has been gaining traction in Germany since the auction of licenses in 2019. 5G supports data rates of up to 10 Gbit/s, enabling a significantly faster data transfer than the previously common LTE technology.

For logistics and industry, a comprehensive 5G network offers immense advantages: Real-time data transmission and latency times of less than one millisecond enable further digitization of the supply chain through the use of intelligent technologies such as IoT or machine learning. Furthermore, real-time location transmission can also achieve maximum transparency and seamless traceability of goods within the supply chain.
