Dropshipping, also known as 'distance selling', is a form of distribution where a retailer no longer holds the goods themselves but stores them with a wholesaler and has them shipped by this wholesaler. Since the rise of e-commerce, dropshipping has become increasingly popular as it allows retailers to minimize costs for storage, packaging, and shipping. Additionally, important time is saved for online trade, as the goods are shipped directly from the wholesaler to the buyer without any stops in between.

However, in dropshipping, retailers relinquish a lot of responsibility, which is why a reliable and trustworthy partner is a prerequisite for successful dropshipping.
