Industry 4.0

Industry 4.0 is a marketing term for the fourth industrial revolution, which aims to pave the way for intelligent and flexible production.

Thanks to new technologies, production processes can be optimized, thereby reducing costs. Based on interconnected and intelligent systems, and with the help of innovative information and communication technology, smart factories are to be realized, in which production is largely self-organized. (Part-)autonomous machines equipped with artificial intelligence take on complex tasks. They can move independently and make decisions on their own. Production sites, goods, and logistics communicate and cooperate in this (part-)autonomous manner.

The resulting transparency is intended to capture the entire lifecycle of a product: from the idea to recycling, an intelligent value chain is created that operates with maximum efficiency and thus minimizes costs, thanks to the systems employed.
