RFID

RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) refers to a technology frequently used in Logistics 4.0 for the automatic and contactless identification and localization of cargo objects. In logistics, so-called RFID tags are used: labels that can be read using radio waves.

An RFID system consists of a radio label (also called a transponder), which is marked with a code. A reader device can read, identify, and assign this code using radio waves. This facilitates the identification of cargo and ensures increased transparency in the supply chain. RFID tags are particularly suitable for companies where there is a high presence of dust and dirt, as RFID tags can be read even in cases of significant contamination, unlike QR or barcodes.
