Sina Weibo

Weibo is the Chinese term for microblogging, Sina Weibo is the largest service of this kind in China. Sina Weibo was founded by the Sina Corporation in 2009, when Facebook and Twitter were banned in China. Sina Weibo is considered the Chinese counterpart to Twitter, but has more extensive features that also bear similarities to Facebook. Since 2016, the length of posts is no longer limited to 140 characters but can be up to 2000 characters long.
