Surveyor

A surveyor is a person or a company that is responsible for monitoring the loading and unloading, inspecting the quality and condition, as well as identifying defects or damages to a cargo.

In the logistics industry, external and independent surveyors are commissioned mainly for insurance reasons and for very expensive or sensitive cargo. In some transports, for example, insurance companies require the use of a surveyor. The surveyor continuously documents every movement of the cargo and has all safety-relevant credentials to have free access to the goods at any time.
