The Collaborative Supply Chain: Barriers to Implementation

Potential Recognized, but Not Fully Exploited

More than six out of ten logistics managers surveyed state that efficiency increases in the supply chain will only be possible in the future through cooperation and data exchange with business customers and suppliers. The question of possible competitive advantages was also answered positively: 61 percent see potential in collaborative cooperation to gain a competitive advantage over competitors. Therefore, increased collaboration with customers and suppliers in the supply chain is already part of everyday business for a large majority of companies (68 percent). Internal company competencies are predominantly assessed as sufficiently high to optimize collaboration with partners and successfully plan logistics processes. Thus, 65 percent state that they have the necessary know-how within the company. Among companies with 50 to 250 employees, 72 percent agree with this statement, and in companies with 250 to 1,000 employees, 75 percent agree. Nevertheless, across all company sizes, about half of the respondents (56 percent) say that the potential of collaborative processes is known but is not yet fully exploited. /*! elementor - v3.10.1 - 17-01-2023 *
